Have you been wondering what RSVP means?

RSVP is an abbreviation for the French phrase "Respondez S'il Vous Plait." In English, RSVP stands for "Reply Please!"

If you have received a wedding invitation that includes an RSVP notation, you are being asked to respond and let your hosts know whether or not you are able to attend the event.

If you are sending a wedding invitation with an RSVP notation, you are asking your guests to "Respond Please" so that you can plan appropriately.

In addition to asking your guests to RSVP, be sure to let your guests know

  • how to respond,
  • the deadline for a response,
  • and what information to include with the response.

For example, if you are using our wedding RSVP service, you will let your guests know how to respond by including a toll-free phone number extension and a web page address that your guests can use to communicate their response. You will let your guests know the deadline by including an RSVP date. You won't need to let your guests know what information to include in their response because they will be asked in the RSVP greeting or on the RSVP web page.

Even if you do all this, we know that it is not unusual for you to still be waiting for a response from 30% - 50% of your guests by your wedding invitation response date. That's why our RSVP service also includes calling those guests who haven't responded by your RSVP date.
